Marx Big Wheel

We had the Sport Wheel version of the Marx Big Wheel. Ours had that awesome brake on the right side: you’d get going down the sidewalk as fast as you could (at least 80 mph) and then you’d pull up on that brake and cause yourself to violently spin out. After a few months, there’d be a huge wear-hole in your tire and you were (wah-wah) out of business.

Can someone please tell me who made the chopper style trike that Danny rides down the halls in 'The Shining'? I had one of those and would like to find one for my 2 year old. I still have pictures of me washing it in the driveway. Kids don't know what they've missed! Maybe AMF or Sears?

Here's a Big Wheel by Marx horror story: It was 1973 and I was 17 and muy macha. We would cut the wheels off and coast down mountain roads. (Colorado) Tracking our speed in the "follow car", a scrofulous green Impala. I crashed, (at a clocked 60 mph) broke my femur in 10 places, and lost my kneecap(the sawn off pedal hub pierced my kneecap, but did not come completely un attached from the Big Wheel. . . ) Spent 4 months in traction, 8 months in a body cast and have a Teflon '70's model knee-cap.
